Readiness: The 4 Pillars of Readiness for Successful Relationships

Discover the 4 Pillars of Readiness for building successful relationships. Learn how receptivity, romance, rejuvenation, and responsibility can help you prepare for a fulfilling dating life.

For anyone on a journey of self-development and personal overcoming, readiness to allow fresh ways of thinking and living are crucial to potential success. If we remain frozen in fear of of the unknown, we can miss out on vital opportunities for joy, healing and overcoming. Preparing ourselves for change is a positive process.

By accepting that we need to change we allow space for progress along with potential new relationship building. Knowing who is good for us and what we really want from our dating life will help us to choose the right person, also.

Here are the 4 Pillars of Readiness that you need to be aware of:

1. Receptivity: If we stubbornly grip on a ‘can’t do’ attitude, then we limit ourselves from accessing the relationships we really want. By developing our personal confidence, we can attract the right people towards us. Emotional sobriety is a positive part of your onwards journey and it includes accepting who we are today not who we have been in the past.

2. Romance: What kind of relationship are you looking to build? Perhaps right now you are only ready for friendship. Or you might be hoping to cultivate a romantic relationship with someone special. Don’t rush yourself and always listen to your intuition. Life is a marathon not a sprint and there is no need to hasten the process.

3. Rejuvenation: Part of being ready for relationships is allowing time to pause and take time for ourselves when we need to. Rushing ahead can lead us to date the wrong type of person. Or even worse, to lose our way and relapse. Make your wellbeing an ongoing priority and provide yourself with generous space and time to reflect on your behaviors and choices.

4. Responsibility: Let go of any fixed ideas of ‘perfection’. Instead, take a sense of empowerment from knowing you are the one steering this vessel forwards in the right direction. Each small choice and action you take each day contributes to significant change. Learn what your boundaries are now (including sexually) and proudly stick by them.

Practice taking consistent responsibility for your emotions, actions and expectations. Your intuition is present within you as a helpful guidance tool. Listen to how you feel after spending time with someone do you feel triggered, or centered? The answer to this will highlight the answers you’re looking for.

Develop a dating plan so that you have a clearer conscious idea of who you’d like to date and how they should contribute to your life. Be mindful that this vision should adjusting with you as you strengthen and evolve over time.

Personal development is an ongoing process rather than a box to tick. Most importantly keep moving forward!
